Tata's Dark Chocolate Paleo Custard--
That Tastes Amazing!!
So I think most paleo desserts taste like crap and leaves me feeling deprived and pouting "that doesn't count as dessert!" But this one can fool you it's paleo and is divine! And this dessert is SUPER easy to make!
Ingredients:
1 cup dark chocolate chips
5 egg yolks
1 (14oz) can of Coconut Milk
1 tsp pure vanilla
3 TBS cup honey
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 F.
Heat the coconut milk in a sauce pan to just before boiling. Remove from the heat and add the chocolate chips. Let them sit and melt for a minute and then whisk them until smooth.
In a separate bowl whisk together the egg yolks and the honey until smooth.
Then add the chocolate mixture to the egg/honey mixture and whisk until smooth. Then whisk in vanilla.
You will need a large rectangle baking dish with sides that are at least 2 inches high. Place four oven proof small single serving glass bowls in your baking dish.
Add water to the baking dish just over half way up your glass containers. Fill all your glass baking dishes by equally dividing your chocolate mixture.
Bake for 40 minutes until the top is set. Then remove your custards from the water and chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Optional: Top with fresh fruit or homemade whip cream! Or Paleo friendly toppings such as: Dark chocolate shavings; chopped nuts; toasted coconut; fresh fruit, coconut whipped cream, paleo cookie crumbles...
You can serve and eat directly from the containers you baked the custard in or get creative with decorations. See the pictures below for some ideas:
Enjoy!!!
Love, Tata!!!
