Blueberry Ginger Smoothie

Making Green Shit That Tastes Good!
Blueberry Ginger Spinach Smoothie
This smoothie is packed with antioxidants, Vit. C. and potassium.  .Each cup of raw spinach contains 145 micrograms of vitamin K, which is an astounding 181 percent of the daily value. And the ginger is great for digestion and has natural anti-inflammatory effects.

Directions:
Take a 16oz glass and fill it half way with frozen blueberries.  Add 1/2 a frozen banana.  Dump in blender (Vita Mix works best).  Add a chunk of fresh ginger about 1-2 tsp worth (raw ginger is very spicy so start with a little bit and add more as desired).  Leaving the peel on is fine if you are using a blender that can puree it otherwise cut the skin off the ginger first.  Add 1 and a 1/2 cup fresh (pre-washed) spinach.

Pour Orange juice to just about 3/4 of the way up the blueberries.  Optional: add 1 scoop of your favorite vanilla protein mix.  I use  Spiru-tein Vanilla protein (It is the best tasting, is gluten-free and made with rice/soy/peas).  Blend.  Enjoy!
I buy the 5lb container from Purple Moon Organic Espresso in Corvallis, OR.  They will hook you up with the best price in town (you must pre-order it).  Also try out Purple Moon's version of their Blueberry/Ginger smoothie with local organic blueberries.  They have the best smoothies in town!  Minus mine of course!!  Purple Moon also offers the best all organic espresso drinks in town as well as fresh organic juices, smoothies and wheat grass.
