Overall and Taste:
I have been patronizing Fisherman's Market for over 10 years.  It is one of my must go-to's in Eugene.  Over the past 10 years their food has been pleasantly consistent and seafood always fresh.  Today was no different!  I met my buddy there for lunch and ordered the shrimp and fries.  This is one of the only fish markets that offers the option to grill your fish instead of breaded and deep fried.  I always choose the grilled option and then I can justify getting the fries of course! The fries are crisscross fries which are fun but honestly this place would be a 5 STAR establishment if they made their own fries.  Really it's the only criticism I have of this place minus their chowder (see below). You are given a choice of two coleslaws that come with your fish and chips both do not contain mayo which is amazing! I always choose the cilantro/lime coleslaw it is light and refreshing and a nice compliment to the deep fried food. Fisherman's market has many other food items such as: fresh/local crab dinner; fresh lobster; clam chowder; seafood chowder among others.  The fisherman's market is the place to go to in Eugene for fresh seafood to take home.

Price:
Their prices are reasonable.  With fresh fish and chip dinners starting at $7.00.  Expect to spend approximately $10 a person.

Taste (continued):
While I was happy with my grilled shrimp and chips my friend ordered the Salmon chowder which neither of us were crazy about.  It has a overpowering flour taste and was bland.  Things you MUST try: smoked salmon on a stick; salmon jerky and smoked muscles!   This is the ONLY establishment anywhere that I will eat anything with mayo in it!!  I despise mayo but Fisherman's Market makes their own cocktail and dipping sauces.  The sauces are self-serve and all you can eat.  My fav or rather the only one I will eat is the Rajin Cajin--it is amazing!

Atmosphere:
The atmosphere is fun it feels like you are at a restaurant on the Oregon Coast down on the wharf complete with a crab cooker out front and live lobsters and crawdads swimming around inside.  They also have a beautiful outdoor sitting area.  When you step into Fisherman's Market it feels like you are at Pike Street Market in Seattle, WA where men in rubber aprons are tossing fish.

My Lunch buddies Clint and Crawdaddy (See picture below)

Like I said Fisherman's Market is the PLACE TO GO in Eugene for fresh take-home fish or a sit down meal at the market of fish and chips!  Enjoy and tell them Bite Me Food Critiques sent you!

Love, Tata
