Guaranteed: Smiles and Kisses! With this Kiss Me, Sugar, Apple Pie!

Kiss Me, Sugar,
 Apple Pie
Ingredients:
For pie crust: Click on ‘recipe’ label and choose which crust you would like and follow the directions exactly! For this pie I recommend my "Flakey Pie Crust."

For filling:
½ cup sugar
¼ cup flour
¾ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
Dash of salt
6 cups thinly sliced peeled tart* apples (about 6 med apples)
*I use a combination of granny smith, pink ladies and golden delicious
2 TBS butter
I am seriously in desperate need of a sous chef and a dishwasher!  Interested??  Must work for pie!  I have been struggling with some health issues and standing or being active for long periods of time is detrimental so I may have come up with a new trend--making apple pie from bed!!

So if you join my cooking school we will hang in bed and watch Netflix while we chop, peel and core 12 cups of apples!!  Who is in??

Directions: Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.  In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and dash of salt.  Whisk.  Stir in apples.  Spoon into pastry-lined pie plate.

Cut butter into small pieces; sprinkle over apples. See picture below.

Top filled pie with the remaining rolled out crust.  Pinch top and bottom edges of the crust together;flute.  Poke a few holes so steam can escape.  Brush top of crust with ½ TBS cold water and sprinkle ½ TBS sugar (or coarse sugar) on it.  Cover the pie edges with 2 inch strips of foil to prevent excessive browning; remove foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.  Bake 40-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and juice begins to bubble through the slits/holes in the crust.  Cool on cooling rack at least 2 hours!

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of homemade whip cream(see recipe for whip cream under the Banana Cream Pie recipe link)!

Enjoy!  Love, Tata
